A Life So Sublime

Once upon a time

A girl had a life so sublime

She had so much fun

And her worries were but none

Then one day

The fun simply went away

A pain so deep

A desire to just sleep

She wondered what was wrong

And why it hurt for so long

At this time

She wished to commit a crime

One against herself

Saying “I just hate myself.”

She pushed those feelings down

And tried to hide the frown

But after a while

She couldn’t maintain the smile

Finally there was an intervention

Completely filled with tension

But it was good advice

And knowing people cared was nice

From that point onward

Self-hate was no longer a word

Stuck in her brain

And there was far less pain

From this she learned

Those who care will be concerned

And struggles are a part

Of living while possessing a heart

She knew too that the pain

Would soon wane

And she would breakthrough

The hurt as she grew

And truly she did

The pain was completely rid

And at this time

She is again living a life so sublime
