Life as a Whole
Life broken into parts isn’t as bad as it seems.
Life could be better,
But to avoid seeing the nasty, real parts,
We tend to break, rip and tear our life apart.
The life we always wanted,
Is one that we hardly ever get.
Life is easier to cope with if we don’t have it breathing down our necks.
Life is one of those things that every one has
Yet no one has at the same time.
Life can hardly be explained.
There is no one definition of life
And there is no one solution to life.
Life is the biggest mystery of all,
The answer to all man’s questions
Is how do we live our life?
Life.
A good and sturdy question,
One asked many, many times,
Yet hardly ever answered.
Looking at life as a whole,
Completes the picture
We so desperately want.
Life is the most complex formula,
The paint by numbers,
The crazy puzzle pieces that takes years to complete.
People along the way will come
And lay their play,
Fitting some pieces into our puzzle,
Causing the picture to start to form.
Life as a whole,
Is nasty to behold,
It shows the ugliness,
When we would rather see the pretty
We would rather see what we want to see,
The accomplishments rather than the failures.
The happy instead of the sad.
But life is not that way,
Life is made up of the good and the bad,
The hard and the easy.
Life as a whole
Gives us the courage to
Look into the future,
To be prepared for the present.
Life as a whole
Tells us what we are looking for,
The trouble we seek to correct,
And the love there is in that puzzle.
Our life, as much as we would like to have it,
Does not revolve around us.
We are not the only people who are in our life.
Our life cannot solely be our own,
We must share our life, share the goodness,
Share the sorrow.
We have a duty, to help others,
To help with their life,
Not to take over it.
We have a duty
To live good lives,
To help ourselves be better.
Life as a whole
Can show us how we must live,
How we may live,
And how we should live.
There is no right and wrong that can be judged by society,
Only the deepest most profound judgment can be done by our own lives,
Our very being.
Looking at life as a whole,
Can hardly be easy,
First you must dig deep, into the very being of your soul.
There, on the surface, will be nothing shiny and bright,
The dirt and grime lays on the top layer,
Waiting to be swept away.
That shiny brilliant material is waiting,
Waiting for you to uncover it.
Life is waiting for you.
