Life of a Young Black Male
Somebody please tell me the difference from then and now
How its like we still have no more worth than a cow
Will the struggles and debaucles ever stop
Will we ever stop being harrassed by a cop
Just because of our skin and past history
The reasons behind these things are still in my mind..a mystery
I am a young black male who has no record & involved in the community
Yet nobody sees that..so I'm left with no immunity
In my mind, the world fears a strong black man with
intelligence
One who takes care of his responsibilities
And isn't considered a negligence
One who is focused and goal-orientated
One who doesn't let others dictate..how he should
live his life
But shows that not all BLACK men beat their wife
The struggles of a young black male are forever there
Will we ever get past them..its you that I dare
I dare you to change history as a black male
Don't stay out on the corner..get shot..and have the
woman in your life walk around with a black vail
Change who you are and do something
Have goals and show women you're a man who can be loving
Show the world that you aren't just another statistic
Walk your life and be legit
You don't belong in an overcrowded jail system
You belong in an office building with a high-
paying/ranking job
You belong walking the streets and show others
there's more to life than being a slob
Show America..show the WORLD
the STRUGGLES OF A YOUNG BLACK MALE
