Lifeforce

It came before us all

And will continue after we have left.

It lives in birdsong

In ocean waves on sand

And in the heartbeats of every one of us.

It wanders between the knitted fingers of lovers

Tiptoes its way into sunrises

And curls up with those of us who don’t have anyone.

Music.

It breaths just as surely as a person

Crescendos like booming thunder

Swells like the tide

And whispers that everything

will be

okay.
