Lifeline

Dazzling golden light streams from above her,

Silver has begun to reflect the light,

Laughter pulses through fields of larkspur,

And, with a heart so free I feel alright.

She guides me through the challenges of life,

Becoming the blood coursing in my veins,

My grip is loosening, as the sharp knife

Of reality hits like hurricanes

Upon the cliffs of despair and I realize:

Life is a desert and she my oasis.

Love, faith and strength she provides, Yet clockwise

The world turns. For everything I’m gracious.

She has given me her whole universe,

A gift I can never hope to reimburse.
