A lifelong friend

I'm the one who cannot be seen.

I don't know how it feels to be wanted.

I feel I have no purpose for existing.

I see families and what it's liked to be loved.

I thought it will never happen to me

But then I met you.

You were all alone too.

You were just a child.

You saw me, all alone

You knew how it felt

You were the only one who cared.

I am not longer alone

We became best friends

We would never hurt each other

We always cared

We always loved

We would always be together

But then you were gone

You said you would never leave

You never forgot me

You kept all of your promises

You were the only one who cared

You got older and I stayed the same

Now I am alone again

I watched you draw your last breath

I hung on to every word you said

I listened to your last words

I never forgot them

"I love you." --Your imaginary friend
