A LIFELONG INFLUENCE

Walking through life holding on to a dream Losing a loved one, I wonder does she see? My future birthed from memories, from six years old to now. The killer that took her, I’ll fight for her somehow. Her predator not human, her life taken not by hand She knew death was impending, her countenance was strong; Cancer snuck up on her, its deadly fingers gnarled; She taught me faith and courage, she showed me fortitude; This path my life will take me, will honor her one day I will help save others with God’s unending grace And when I see their smiles and their sighs of great relief I will finally quell the anger of this nasty beast. When I meet with her in Heaven and we sit at Jesus feet Our lives will come full circle, in victory so replete

I lost a parent to cancer and it was very refreshing to read something I can relate to so intimately
