Life's Broken Things
I tried so hard and got so far, but in the end, it doesn’t even matter.
How can I try, while all I love dies, leaving me alone in this wheel of time?
When all we can do is watch it go by, does anything we do even matter
As the ages pass by, oh, tell me, child divine
I had to fall, to lose it all, but in the end, it doesn’t even matter.
I’ve also lost my all, sprawled down this mine,
A trail lost through time, all but tears, and a lie upon dark raven wings shattered.
I tried so hard does it even matter when all is lost through time?
So unreal; it doesn’t even matter how hard you try, keep that in mind, I designed this rhyme to remind myself of a time when I tried so hard.
All I know is time is a valuable thing, and it goes by fast as the pendulum swings, like chimes
Of an old artillery clock, like a dark crypt, to which the blackbird sings, notes left like a trail of scarred,
Broken things, like a broken ship or a broken wing, sailing into a harbor filled with hymns
You kept everything inside, and even though I tried it all fell apart; what it meant to me will eventually be a memory of a time when I tried so hard.
Time, watch it count to the end of the day, the clock ticking our lives away
In the end, it’s said and done, time ran out, all in disregard

In the end, does it even matter, when everything falls apart, will you stay?
