Life's a dream

What kind you ask? What kind of dream. A nightmare, a running tense dream where your heart beats so fast, you hear it, you know it ,you awaken and jump upright. You spill the glass of water by your bed. To go where? What are you about to do? You're lost, you try to think. You can't remember. You want to be warm, to be comforted. You lay back down Into the cocoon of blankets. You close your eyes It's ok. Whatever it was it's past. You hope you always remember the good. You feel good again You close your eyes. When you get up again you see the glass on your carpet. When? I must've knocked it during the night. Don't trip over it. Pick it up. And life starts again. Keep looking ahead.
