Life's Trichy

Dear Trichotillomania,

You’ve ruined my life.

Gone are the days when I let it all down.
Gone are the days when I let others play with it.
Gone are the days when I thought it to be my pride & joy.
Gone are the days because gone is the hair.

Here are the days where headbands & hats are an everyday thing.
Here are the days where I try my best to hide bald spots.
Here are the days when I tell myself just one more, but it’s never just one more.
Here are the days because here is you.

My heart constantly begging for me to stop.
But my fingers always ready for you to urge them on.

I long for the day that I will finally rid myself of you.
But as each day passes,
my hope grows smaller
as the pile of hair grows larger.

Forever and always yours,

Jordan
