Lifetime
Birth itself was a miracle
Small as a leaf she was
Birth itself was a miracle
Grew from a leaf to the size of an adult hand
Tears were where the tongue lied
Language was in no mans land
She grew and grew and grew
Life was no longer a blur
No longer just sounds and faces
It came time to bear the pain
Life was now a burden
It became clear that life was nothing but difficult
Scars of all kinds
And innocence was just a word
Broken with no cracks to find
Healer, she was
With no healer to heal her
And living became a chore
And pain became a brother
And it all became clear
That life brang great suffer
