Lift, Thrust, Weight, Drag…
Lift, thrust, weight, drag…
As the hawk raises
It’s wings spread wide
Gracing the air to lift up
Against the tides of gravity
To thrust between trees, leaves
Just to be guided by it’s breeze
Gliding through the sky
Feeling the weight of the world on its shoulders
Being carried and dragged
By the heaviness
Feeling like boulders
The other birds swarm around
To encourage this hawk
They must fly
Above it all
In order to reach solid ground
You must soar
Life has its pitfalls
Before one can walk
They must crawl
Through the depths
Of the darkened tunnel
Experiencing deceivers and liars
Bridges set ablaze by hellfire
Gathering knowledge and wisdom
Illuminating the truth
About life’s lore
Birds of a feather, flock together…
