Light

Death, come for me now

While my lips are still up in a smile

While my eyes are still filled with stars

While a laugh still dances on my breath.

Close my eyes with snow-laced lashes

And let me sleep in an eternal dream.

Death, please come for me now, and sweep me away

Before the darkness comes back for me

And draws my eyes away from the light

And drags me under, where I cannot see

Please come, while I can still feel the light

And not when my heart has ceased to breathe.

O come now, Death

And steal me from this life

Now, when I am finally happy

Esacped from my eternal plight

Take me as I am crying out in joy

And do not wait until I am screaming in pain

Please, come now Death

Hell's horses are approaching fast

Poised with my shackles of fire

Take me now, in my embracing of the galaxies

And keep me, tucked under the wings of heaven's angels
