Light
Within the darkest recesses of your mind,
There is a light shining brighter than the sun.
A light that is clouded by your clouded vision,
Light with potential far beyond your imagining.
A light that has a soothing voice of reasoning,
A voice drowned out by thoughts of fallacies.
All of your forgotten pasts and fictitious futures,
Blocking out the present right in front of you.
A brighter future falling through your fingertips,
Like a cup with no bottom you hold no value.
Blinded by opportunity in disguise you crumble,
Only focusing on imperfections rather than purity.
Hope and love unfortunately often come and go,
Much like the tides on a beach never staying long.
But demons and angels never leave your side,
Angels are brighter but demons are much bigger.
