Light

O’ light shining bright Be my hope in this darkness The deepest, darkest depths of night Cannot ever match your likeness Your countenance is so fair And your eyes so cheery While the face of despair Is ever so bleary Your touch is a balm for my soul The thrilling feeling of lightning But it’s the dark that creates the hole And makes my life so frightening. I live my life day to day And keep a jubilant face This feeling, is it finally joy? Nay, ‘Tis but gloom keeping pace
