The Light
This poem is a thank you to the person that inspired me to change my life for the better
I sit in a field of shadows
A match in one hand and cyth in the other
The wisp of a sorrow wind through my hair
As I shiver from the cold hands of death
A light appears
You appear
Being of pure light why have you grabbed my scarred hands
Why have you smiled at this broken doll
Eyes of hope beaming with kindness
As I walk behind you I see your goodness
Your radiance fills the room
Burning away every eye of disparity
You are the rarity
This infectious light,
Ignites the match in my hand
Burning
You smile
And I cry
These tears of joy streaming down my face
Washing away the darkness
As we embrace our light fills my mind
Your light was like a candle in my dark void of mind
Dim, but burning with all the hope if could conceive
You are the light of my life that brought me out of the darkness
I love you for that
