A light

We all live in a dark, dreary world

Living one day to the next, blindly stumbling through

Yet we think we have it all when we can show off our limitless supply of clothes, cars, and shoes

But are they anything to celebrate?

Can they make us laugh or smile when all we want to do is drown and sink

Make us see that who we are is never nothing

That who we are is someone who can dance, teach, or sing

Someone who can kindle a fire, creating a light for others to follow too

That we can make a difference and make a beacon for those who are lost and want to see

Create a light that can shine and let others completely see that maybe we can come through

And that this world is not as dark and lonely because a light will always shine through
