Light above darkness

The darkness follows

The wind, it cries

Howling out hellos

Though not once a goodbye

I am so close

Though also so far

I don't understand

Why this is so hard

They all surround me

Their voices, they rise

Some seem so kind

But they hide, they're disguised

Visions and dreams

People young, people old

I can't tell most

Everything I'm told

Senseless murmurs

Important thoughts

Great distractions

Actions I've fought

They're all around us

Because the darkness follows
