Light above darkness

The darkness follows

The wind, it cries

Howling out hellos

Though not once a goodbye

I am so close

Though also so far

I don't understand

Why this is so hard

They all surround me

Their voices, they rise

Some seem so kind

But they hide, they're disguised

Visions and dreams

People young, people old

I can't tell most

Everything I'm told

Senseless murmurs

Important thoughts

Great distractions

Actions I've fought

They're all around us

Because the darkness follows

So hold onto the light

Or it will leave you hollow
