Light at the End of the Tunnel

I am optimistic.

Drip, drip, drip, there is the rain

Coming and going

To shadow my pain.

As a child I lay there thinking why,

Why things never turn out the way I planned.

Looking out the window,

Waiting for you to pick me up,

Yet you never showed.

When the next weekend came around,

I didn’t think you would not show again.

Things will change I hoped.

A positive change is what I wanted.

College approached quickly,

And so did the tougher classes.

First test grade came back

And it was not a good one.

Yet I stayed positive,

Hoping with more dedication things would get better.

Rethinking if this place was for me,

It had to be if I received the acceptance letter.

First semester went by in a sneeze,

Second semester will be a breeze.

They say speaking positively

Comes along with good outcomes.

I am optimistic.
