Light bulb moment

The words "You're not good enough" rang in my ears

Doubt became my friend

The words "You're stupid and immature" crushed my heart into dust

Doubt became my friend

The words "You're too impulsive" made my blood boil

And yet doubt became my friend

Silently holding back tears, I flashed a smile.

Trembling behind the words that bound me like chains, I fought with everyone.

While i was alone, I repeated,"I am none of those things, I am strong!"

Then one day, I believed it

then happiness became my friend

hope became my friend

strength became my friend

So go ahead and try to break me down, you won't succeed.

I have a lion's heart and that, my friend, can never be broken.

I am not good enough? No I'm better!

I am stupid and immature? No, i have so much more than you can comprehend.

I am too impulsive? well, that's a fact but is there a problem with being enthusiastic?

My enthusiasm helps me express myself in a creative way

And granted i am funny but when it comes down to the nitty gritty, I dont play

You have your way

I have mine

Don't try to break when you cant mend

Don't hurt others when you are hurt

This doesnt solve anything

A simple, "You are nice" is suffice

But then again, if you have nothing good to say

dont say it.
