Light Denied

Oh to dream of a night where there is no light

And all of us scream out for such a simple sight

Oh why does this weapon tear at us so

How can it reach down to your soul

It pulls and tugs and rips us away

Making us regret the very day

Wishing we were never born

Reliving the horrible scorn

The heart inside screaming out need

Watching the death of all our breed

Tasting from the forbidden fruit

And attack the deadly brute

Shall he crush us all to death

Releasing our last breath

All falling onto the ground

So to the past we are bound

From this world we're set free

But there is always a fee

Yet bound to live a life

Through struggle and strife

To commit the task of the divine

Just waiting waiting for the sign

So we keep going on and on

Counting every single dawn

Till the sun sets forever more

And we exit through Death's door
