The Light House
Winding silhouette ivory reaches for wonder
carelessly; from a world of ancient sand we watch-
On silence we coast
a narrow drowse;
We browse for answers
On the shore;
And sure enough, we find a rorschach shell;
Held to our ears it whispers, “look to what you love”-
tonight stars spill their astral strokes;
a sudden scintillation brokered by eternity;
thrown around like two marbles in a jar, our eyes salivate;
craving and clawing for new succulent hues-
cosmic footpaths streak across the inky waves above;
I see some intersect in blooms of porcelain light;
The closest push your eyes, I can’t quite feel the farthest grow fading-
Ivory silk spreads from above on the blank;
Stretching long ways, sideways and always;
walking the stars, tread light and be calm-
remember the sand, cozy in curling toes;
remember the sensations when you join the dancing colors; On the days when a spotlight is your only have-
remember the silence, when we could have made something; remember a time when between us was nothing
when life was forgetting
and we were forgetful
