Light It Up.

This world has amazing places.

Yet everywhere I see faces,

That lack joy.

We spend all our time running races,

Not considering the joy of God’s graces,

All for toys.

The moon knows to go through its phases.

And the tiger to hunt with few traces.

We act coy.

Fundamentally, something is wrong.

What is it that ruins our songs,

Taking peace?

We don’t realize, or so it seems,

That our lives are more than dreams

Bound with fleece.

Break the pattern, stomp the fear.

Can’t you see that God is here?

He’s made us for more than living a blur.

Each of us talented where we didn’t know we were.

Yes, fearfully, amazingly, powerfully made.

God’s glory ought to be through each one of us displayed.

Our power, our minds, our hopes and dreams,

All a reflection of God’s holy scheme.

We cannot claim that He isn’t there.

Some people simply aren’t aware,

That He died and rose to make them live again

Defeating the evil that would like to box us in.

I know what I want, and what the world needs.

It’s God, end of story, that our hunger feeds.

When I proclaim His love, His story, His grace,

We’ll all finally see some joy in this place.

Don’t hide your light.  Don’t live afraid.

In Jesus’ name you’re saved

In His power you’re made.

Through you He is displayed.

Shine on.
