A Light in My Darkness
I lay wrapped, shrouded in my blanket of darkness.
No, not of depression or sadness, but evil.
I cannot shake this, it clings to me, reminding me always of its presence in my life,
Destroying my focus and my ambitions, taking away who I am.
But I realize it's my fault
I can shake this evil.
That same blanket that feels like darkness was once used in my childhood as my protection from evil.
So what had changed its status? How did it become what used to fend it off?
Its my fault, I know. I allowed it.
And I can force it to leave.
In my strongest inner voice, full of God and love (which are the same) and joy and strength, I will allow myself to be the light in any darkness that dares to come near me.
