The Light to My Darkness

An island all alone

Empty of any heart and soul

A dark scary place

With no where to hide

A humiliating moment

With no one by your side

The gossip that turns your heart black

With no possitive way of coming back

All the negative and all the hate

Surrround this Earth to make it a darkening place

I walk on my path towards the unknown

Drifting farther and farther away from home

Uncertainty and nervousness fill the emotions of my body

But I know I will be ok, because you were an angel sent down to guide me

No matter the pain, or how many tears slide down the skin of my cheeks

You are always there to hold me and wipe those wet tears away off of me

With your embrace and kind words, the darkness seems to dissappear

You are the one person I know I can always run to, who will always lend an ear

The one person I can always rely on and know will never leave

The one who keeps my heart in spirit no matter my dark deed

Even if you are the one limping through your life in pain

You always seem to keep a smile plastered upon on your face

You are the positive ray of light in this darkening world

You are the one who has taken care of me since I was a little girl

You showed me love and affection

You always gave me your full attention

You have always found a spot in the front row

And would wait the most time, only to be first in line

You always made sure I saw that you were there, waving your hand helplessly through the air

Many believd you were my mom

But little did they know, they were wrong

You are my grandmother, but more than that you are my angel

You call me your little angel, but in honesty it has been reversed this whole time

Having you as a grandmother was just a sign

I am meant to do good things in my life

It started with holding me as an infant and telling me to listen to the sounds of nature

To the sound of the cars, and the chimes and the wind

To the rocking and singing me the lullaby I can still hear in my head

To the nurturing of me as a toddler

To teaching me to ride a bicycle

To taking pictures of me getting awards as a kid

To supporting me at my sporting events

To shaping me to the woman I have become

Without you, there would be no me

We are more than just blood

For you, I have the upmost respect and endless love

With you, I can do anything

Without you, I am nothing

You are my angel that I will always love aand need in order for me to survive and breathe
