Light of My Darkness

A light in the darkness

A heart in the cold

One smile and I’m sold

Always modest and kind

A heart made flourish not of mine

A love so fully known

Rarely ever shown

A life lived out to its close

Thinking inevitably this romance shall end

A love so one sided

Feelings so unrequited

But love's truest inevitability

Lies in the reality that love destined to fade

Shall never be retained
