Light up the New Year

Day engulfs into darkness nimbly,

Illuminated paths now le dimly.

A wisp of beauty all alone,

Fear of the unknown,

Now has grown.

Finding clarity becomes a burden,

Broken promises, dreams uncertain.

Pale light of the moon,

Eases my heart’s lost tune.

Phases of the moon might not all be pretty,

An array of hope for some, others might pity.

It hasn’t its own light yet shines so bright.

With craters its flawed,

But when darkness transpires,

Its light everyone desires.
