Light in thought

Genesis 1:3 New King James Version (NKJV)

Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.

Rising sun

The sun cleared the horizon blinding the eyes it came to enlighten

An oxy-moron like a firefly who tries in daylight the desert to brighten

Moving my head sideways to seek a place of shadows

Water in my eyes as a wrap of protection

Thoughts traveling the byways as in a hazy meadow

Where cows get by in the dew’s reflection

It seems that the light right now demands all my attention

It appears that the arms of trees are fading in brightness

How is it possible that my eyes here seek protection?

Not to be blinded and escaping into emotional dryness
