The Lighthouse

The lighthouse in my life

Not seen every day but still ever present

There was a glow to her, that glow became my guide

It guided me through tests, through tribulations

And even through graduation

It was safehouse for me

I ran to it when I was anxious, upset, and even when I was happy

It has been a steadfast structure

Never faltering, always secure

The lighthouse was so compelling that I wanted to build my own

I wanted to guide other's paths because mine had been lit so well

I will forever be grateful for my lighthouse, my counselor.
