The Lighthouse Based off of The Diving Bell and The Butterfly – An autobiography written by Jean-Dominique Bauby The lighthouse is my get away Out on the landing I like to stay Staring at it I find my thoughts Staring at then I know I ought To write my book before I die, About the truth and the lie Anything that comes to mind, I think about it all the time My ways are distorted As the doctors reported, Locked in syndrome is what I have I go to the lighthouse, to get away Out on the landing, staring I stay To write my book I have to think And to talk I have to blink I think of the good times and the bad Some make me happy, some make me sad The women and fame My kids and my dame A life complete At the lighthouse I get away, Out on the landing I will stay Until I get passed the good times and the bad Until I am happy, not sad A book I have to publish A book before I die. A book I write with one blinking one eye, A book I must publish before I die.
