Lightness & Darkness

The reason for my light smile

and the aching pain in my chest.

I try to do and be my best,

but without you, it'll take a while.

You took my attention under arrest

and took my skin to too much carress.

Your words might be vile

and you left my heart in a nest,

but you'll always be my warmest vest.

I'd walk to you even through the miles

and show my soul is my truest attest

for without you, my head is left messed.

This was more than just a simple trial,

my body didn't go west

and didn't see through the midst.

For you're the lightness and darkness in my smile

and the ease and aching in my chest.

I promise to try and do my best,

but without you it''ll take the longest while.
