The Lightning

You're like the lightning.

A quick,

bright,

illuminating flash,

Shining a spotlight on all that is,

and is not.

You're like the lightning.

A sharp,

sudden,

passionate

Shock of high energy voltage crashing onto my world.

Cracking against my surface,

If only for a moment.

You're like the lightning.

Easy to miss,

Impossible to catch.

So I stand out in the rain,

And I listen to the thunder mumble a warning

That you're about to strike again.
