Lightning Feet

I don’t know what happened to me that day

All I know is that I had to run away

One second you were someone I adored

Then I didn’t know you anymore

All it took was one look into your eyes

Then I didn’t know whether it was love or despise

That day you looked so plain

You couldn’t see my pain

You couldn’t see my fear

You couldn’t see my eyes welling up with tears

All of a sudden my blood ran cold

I knew I had to be bold

No more putting each other in danger

When all we were were strangers

No more pretending to be friends 

by fighting for each other till the end

So I ran away with lightning feet

From someone who had seemed so sweet

At a raging steed like pace

With mountains of sweat on my face

I ran with amazing fear

From someone who had once seemed so dear

I ran all through the night

Gazing up at the moonlight

Until I reached my home

And crashed in my room alone
