Lil Red

A young girl in red,

who hung around town,

was told not to stop for strangers

by her mother in gown

But unlike her own mother

she preferred her own style

wearing that signature hood

which could be spotted from miles

She was told to deliver

some refreshments to granny

and once again look out

for anything seeming uncanny.

Low and behold, she drove out

in her car, red and shiny

onto the highway where

speed wasn't tiny

She maneuvered through curves

and intersections of sorts

to finally cross through

the road best not to resort

That one scary spot

before grandma's location,

surrounded by trees

in a canopy construction

She ran out of gas

Now what could she do?

A bypasser came,

asking, "Where are you to?"

Reluctant to asnwer

but in need of some help,

she told him of granny

when from the forest came a yelp

Heads were jerked over

to follow the noise

Nope, nothing there

She composed to stay poise

After the exchange of few glances

and a couple of words,

Red slipped right in

elegant as a bird

The passenger's seat was

a pretty strange position,

placing her near

the driver in question

He had black ruffled hair

with dark, deep-set eyes,

a bold jawline so sharp

and nothing to disguise

The car ride was smooth

but silence was heavy

Red attempted to speak

within the closed Chevy

Suddenly the car halted

right on the single road

"Excuse me a minute"

he croaked like a toad

Confused and afraid,

Red wondered what happened

he staggered towards the forest

while an inner voice tappened

Move to the driver's seat

she heard in her head,

following her instincts,

she swished over like shooting lead

The man disappeared

into the blackened forest

Alone, Red decided

to drive away for her best

Arriving at grandma's

she handed mom's gifts

and then told of the man

who gave her the lift

"I don't know where he is

but I came in his car"

Grandma scolded, how could you?

You've stolen- that's not on par!

Grandma proceeded however

to tell Red of a person

who was kind and well-mannered

indeed, did no cursin'

She suggested Red meet this

courageous young lad

when right at the door

someone knocked- a little bit mad

Red went to the door

to see the man she had left

Drenched in rain, he asked,

"Do you know you could be accused of theft?"

Alarmed and astounded,

Red gasped in huge shock

"It's him! It's him, grandma!

Quick, give me the lock!"

"Calm down! That's the lad!'

hushed grandma in response.

"This lad is the one

with the least nonchalance"

"I stopped for some flowers

but you left me and it rained

Oh boy, do you know

how much you had me pained?"

He looked into Red's eyes

and slowly began to grin

His sly humor was detected,

so she laughed and took akin

Little did she know

these feelings started forming

He had snuck into her heart

like a cunning wolf- Prince Charming
