Lil' Red

Going through the woods alone, Is pretty scary, A little girl like me, Defenseless. Momma warned to stay on the path But I don't want to listen Doing things just because it's been done Typically isn't all that fun All I have to do is deliver a gift But a bunch of obstacles Get in my way and The big bad wolf wants to play Of course I try not to mind him For I know he'll swallow me whole But sometimes it's just unavoidable And our paths must cross He feeds on my fear and anxiety alone Hoping to catch some flesh But with all my strength I try to get away And continue on my journey I must deliver the gift. Once again at the end of my journey I see the wolf dressed like granny Trying to trick me to think he's nice So to humor him, I point out the obvious Nice try Mr. Wolf, but you can't fool me I call for help knowing the lumber man will come. I try to deal with the wolf while I wait, Running around distracting him Hopefully tiring him out But the lumber man does not come And the wolf is my burden to bare In vain, I attack and get swallowed whole From the inside out I fight, But it's too late now.
