lilies

a healthy relationship

is an open window

sunlight filtering through the blinds

cool air filling tired lungs

a healthy relationship is

a flower you never forget to water.

a lily,

open-faced and sprung tall

with stems sprouting wildly

green, and thick as blood.

a healthy relationship is

what i have with you.

you give me time to breath between kisses

you ask for consent

you don't play games

you say my name with pride and

look at me with affection.

you never ask

for anything in

return but

love.
