Lilies
Deep inside I'm far away
A world made of words
Or full of those who walk alone
The sun glows bright or cowers far
Whatever suits my mood.
And in my dreams the lilies sing
A bright new song for all.
They spread their dance through all the trees
And cause the wind to cease,
To listen in with baited breath
For stories the lilies sing.
They tell of all that they have seen
and give the message,
warm and bright,
of joy they've seen
from their sweet place.
And when the woodlands felt unsafe
They kept on waving, spreading hope,
For they knew that was all they held.
And those that learned to listen in
found peace and comfort there
Though times were rough and sun was scarce
The lilies kept their peaceful song.
