Lily


It began as a small bud On a stem That went unnoticed Looking like any old plant That bud bloomed Into a beautiful lily And among the other shrubs Became noticed Its stem stood tall With confidence Its bright petals caught the eye And curiosity Until it was forcfully taken From its roots From its source of life And quickly began to lose a pinch of beauty For its capture knew That it had to be sacrificed To gain The love of another
