Limerick about Denise

There was a young girl called Denise

Who had a really big sneeze

It lifted the roof

And blew out her tooth

And she ended up down on her knees.

I am trying to teach my daughter the wonder of silly poetry - to get her interested in a subject that often is all about non-rhyming types.

Once she got going on the idea of how easy, nonsensensical and silly the limericks could be, she wrote loads and then asked me to go into her school to tell her class. Haven't quite plucked up the courage yet.

I have been writing all my life, and have kept many of my poems and stories from since i was about 8. My daughter loves reading them - it tells her i was a young, naughty girl once too.
