Limits
Growing up was never as easy as I thought it’d be, coming from a broken home where the holidays were more cold than they were heart warming. Being the middle aged brother of four I was suppose to be following in footsteps of those before me, but yet I had to set the pace. Being strong was all I had, learning from two parents that fought more than the they taught us, A boy with no guidance who found a way, it was never easy. Family split down the middle with no one to lean on, where am I to go? I don’t know, so many countless nights I cried, all I knew was a ball and a field, to let my frustrations and pains turn to relieving tunes of happiness, it was a short song, but I loved every second of it. Turning all my weaknesses into strength’s I defined every obstacle they put in front of me, I had to move on. Being the only son of 4 to go to college and get one degree while maintaining a 3.75GPA and work towards another was my motivation to continue, I set the bar high for the youngest, he needed to be challenged, I put forth a bar he could reach when he applied himself, I gave him the stepping stones to the blueprints to a better life. I hate it started with me, it should have been my oldest brother, troubled times made me who I am, a man with a drive to never break, A rose that grew from the concrete, A masterpiece made from rubbish. All the accolades I carry and I still can’t be happy, because the love I needed came from the woman I needed the most, my shining angel, Carolyn E Ambler.
I miss you dearly, rest well.
