I've let these thoughts become my life Even in knowing that your his wife I thought you would be mine someway somehow I was certain that day would be by now I look at myself and I hate what I see Just a lonely shell staring at me For its my life that takes a toll Ill wait for you till I grow old I do see myself alone in the end Hurt...but with a friend to help me mend I wish that friend could heal how I feel But it proves to me that this love is real I'm gonna end this thought with words for the wise I will fight for your love until my demise And if I still don't have you when it's my time Ill be in heaven waiting for mine......

Thanks so much this is the first time I've ever let someone read my writing that I wasn't writing it for...

This poem is beautiful, and so personal yet open for others' introspection. Unrequited love is one of the most poetic states of being. If I were you, I would title the poem the woman's name to whom you are referring, because it will personalize it without making it untouchable to others. Great work - keep writing :)
