The Line
The line
The unbreakable line
Men and women provide
Volunteering, making up the stitches for those on the other side
Protecting America and preserving all its richness
Coming home wounded
In both body and mind
Lives shattered by those they left behind
Now homeless or scraping to get by
They find America rich-less despite their sacrifice
Change the narcissism
The ungreatful crowd
Give them the benefits and security
Veterans have well earned
and the thank you deserved
For being the line
