The Line for MLK Jr.

He had a Dream. Craving to birth

a new generation. No more judgment!

toward the complexion of their skin.

Standing with those who were not allowed to stand.

He was their crutch. Then their mother

on the first day of school whispering,

“Everything is gonna be fine.”

Silence.

Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom

by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred.

Telling those to breathe

Let ignorance trace over them.

They may have wealth and hatred

Yet we have Silence (Power!)

Line in the center. Dark and light not one.

As his words spoke through impenetrable walls

Faith    Movement   and Hope

He told us that he had a dream in 1963,

now in 2018 he has allowed us to Dream.

Slowly the line fades away.
