Lines

Location

Lines…

          Lines are everywhere,

                    Cracks in the sidewalk,

                              Grout between the tiles,

                                        Climbing up stairs,

                                                  Counting…

                                                            One… Two…

                                                  Left foot over the line…

                                        Right foot over the line…

                             On and on it went,

                    One day,

          I had decided,

“Ok no more of this…”

          One eye, then the other,

                    Closed,

                             It was dark,

But I started to walk anyway,

Not knowing where the lines are,

                                        Not knowing where…

                             Not knowing how…

                    to step,

I went off towards a new future,

Not knowing where I would end up,

But trusting that it would be…

                    A better…

                             Brighter! Future…

                                        And it ended,

As quickly as it had started,

          It had ended…

The long awaited end had finally arrived…
