Lingering Darkness

The soft wisps engulf her as she plunges deeper in
A feeling of melancholy strangles her
Reaching, reaching to get out
Jubilant faces surround her, deceiving with a smile
What could be amiss?
Gazing down, everything blurs away
Getting out of this state of mind
A battle many people face everyday
How to crawl out of desolation.
She is faced with choice,
Should she close her eyes, let sorrow grasp her,
Breathe her last, and turn to darkness?
No
She opens her eyes, the sun still shines
It gazes upon her, pouring beauty down
The rays bring forth her glow, but darkness lingers 
It'll always be right behind, luring and attempting to choke her under
Remember to stumble forward into the light and keep the darkness behind.
