Lingering Love
Sometimes I'll sit in those places where we once shared affection and exchanged beautiful words
I do it to reminisce on the times of peace and soul-bonding.
I do it to soak up the remaining love that I still believe resides there
Some days I hope to see him in those places, trying to the same thing as I.
Because in that, there is still hope.
But he is never there
And there is no hope.
There is an empty seat, an empty spot
So I fall in love with the places in which he loved me and hope they will never break my heart.
I wonder if love can still live in a place when the lover is gone.
I hope so.
That is the only faith in him I have left.
His lingering love
