Lingering Remorse

Roses are red

Violets are blue

I’ll lie awake in bed

My only thoughts go to you

I made a mistake

It lingers on in my heart

A constant dull ache

How could I be so unsmart?

I know what went wrong

I only thought

All I can hope is that my feelings won’t stay strong

For that sole decision has left me distraught

Who knows what could have happened

This whole scenario has left me forever saddened
