"Lionel Bland"

Death does starnge things to those whom are left behind

To those whose hearts shatter and yet still beat

It's funny

To watch family and close freinds gather and together rewind

Back many decades to the years of parenting

Both father and daughter at the gym listening to the 80's

Back to the lazy morns and afternoons

Father and son waiting for the fish to bite

The quiet evenings together

Husband and wife watching TV or dining

Back to the years of man's best friend

The loving bonds between owner and that little Boston terrier

Back to the begings of their fellowship

That God fueled fellowship powered by the Sword of Truth

And to the time of my own generation

As one of his cherished grandchildren

That garden of colors: red tomatoes, yellow squash, green zucchini...

The smiles captured on camera

Of grandfather and grandson at lunch at school

With my youngest brother

The trips to see fun classical musical

Performances done with the youngest granddaughter

The family get togethers in Summer

Grandpa's 4th of July grilling

Burgers, hot dogs, and sausages blackened the way he likes

And after the meal and over dessert

The family games of Phase 10

Or perhaps the time we played Telestrations and grandps somehow got

"Mexican Bird Thief"

All those times

All these people

All the tears we cry together

They bring him back... if only for a little while
