The Lion's Den

Darkness surrounds me as I make my pursuit into the arena

Chants and roars of the crowd echo off the tunnel walls

The overwhelming sense of dread begins to creep in

But I continue on

As I step into the sunlight, I hear a roar

Thundering

Tenacious

Tumultuous

My heart begins to race

My mouth begins to dry

My vision begins to blur

But I continue on

A shadow appears in the distance

The menacing figure moves in my direction

I grab the handle of blade

Now is the moment

To break the restraints on my ambitions

To set my soul free

To gain the freedom I could never grasp

As it moves closer, I tighten my grip

It shall never bother me again

One last roar retires from its mouth

I swing my weapon with weight

The figure falls

The deed is done

All my fear is gone
