Lisa (running on a) Hill
I started off walking away from you to running to your heart then rolling on a stretcher when my legs gave up.
I went from looking for loose change in my pockets to salvaging through my heart to find you.
I walked through desert storms lost with no purpose, than I looked up and the stars led me to you.
When my heart stop you managed it to beat again.
When time felt like molasses, you sped it up with your smile.
I use to cry for no reason, but nowadays your the reason why I would shed a tear.
Tears that causes hurricanes whenever my heart started to feel pain.
Pain that was relieved when I took a smoke from your lips.
I use to wake up breathless, but when I took a pump from your lips I could breathe again.
When I was lost I wanted to skydive into the cement, but now I want skydive into your life where we talk about paying off our mortgage and how we gone have our second kid.
I went from not wanting to talk to you to wanting to fight with you, so I could hear your voice.
I use to walk without a purpose, but when I think of you I walk as if I have job and a family to provide for.
I use to feel like a fright-train, tough, fasting moving, and not looking back, but now Im driving as if I was a strolling bike, slow and admiring your beauty.
I use to hate being on your team, but now I am begging my manger for a trade.
I use to look at my wrist to show off my rolly, but now I am off my finger to show other that I am making you happy.
This maybe dark, but I had thoughts of carving lines into my skin, but now only thing I think of carving into my skin is ink version of you.
I use to jump fences running from the cops now I am jumping fences to get to you and comfort you in your darkest days.
Even though you are walking away from me with someone else, I will always to manage to run your way.
So when you fall I will be there to catch you and lift you to your feet. So we can finally walk together.
